PSRC Seeking Public Comment on Transportation Improvement Program

SEATTLE – The Puget Sound Regional Council is recommending projects to receive more than $440 million in PSRC’s federal funds, and is encouraging public comment on a draft regional Transportation Improvement Program that includes all major projects funded in the region from 2013 to 2016.

“These projects were selected on their merits and support the region’s economic development and growth,” said Bellevue Councilmember Claudia Balducci, chair of PSRC’s Transportation Policy Board. “When Congress approved these funds earlier this year, their focus was on growing and sustaining jobs. These projects, large and small, will both put people to work and shore up the foundations of our economy for the future.”

A complete list of projects and more detailed information is available online at psrc.org. Many of the projects can also be viewed geographically on PSRC’s Web based map. For more information, contact Kelly McGourty at 206-971-3601 or kmcgourty@psrc.org.

The public comment period is scheduled for September 13 – October 25, 2012. The PSRC’s Executive Board is scheduled to approve the final 2013-2016 Transportation Improvement Program on October 25.
