Puget Sound Regional Council

As part of the update to the region’s transportation plan, Transportation 2040, PSRC is also updating its special needs transportation implementation plan.

The Coordinated Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan outlines how transit agencies, social service agencies, school districts, and other transportation providers can most efficiently and effectively work together to improve regional mobility for individuals with special transportation needs throughout King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. Special Needs Transportation is broadly defined as any transportation service designed to provide mobility for those individuals who are unable to transport themselves due to age, income, disability, or physical condition.

The plan will be updated for federal fiscal years 2011-2014, and provides the guidance for the distribution of FTA Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom funds, and regional rankings for projects applying for WSDOT’s Consolidated Grant Program funds. Input to the plan is requested. And more information can be found at psrc.org. For more information, contact Mary Pat Lawlor:mailto:mlawlor@psrc.org or 206-971-3272.
