Draft Criteria for Regional Growth and Manufacturing/Industrial centers Released - Your Input is Desired

SEATTLE— Draft Criteria for Regional Growth and Manufacturing/Industrial centers have been released for public comment by the Growth Management Policy Board of the Regional Council.

The draft criteria define characteristics and roles of centers , specify growth thresholds, and clarify the regional designation process. The finalized criteria would only apply to new Regional Growth and Manufacturing/Industrial centers and will play an important role as the region's growth and transportation strategy, VISION 2020, is updated in 2004.

Comments that are submitted by Friday, March 14, 2003 will be made available to the Growth Management Policy Board at their April 10, 2003 meeting, when the Board will be asked to make a final recommendation to the Regional Council's Executive Board. It is expected that the Executive Board will take final action on the new criteria this spring.
