VISION 2040 Draft Released - Public Comment Encouraged on New Strategy for Growth, Transportation and the Economy

SEATTLE—  The Puget Sound Regional Council has released the draft VISION 2040, an integrated growth management, economic, and transportation strategy for the central Puget Sound region.

VISION 2040 addresses how the region can meet the needs of the anticipated growth of 1.7 million people and 1.2 million jobs by 2040, while also enhancing the region's environment and overall quality of life.

PSRC is seeking public comment on the draft VISION 2040 and Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Comments received through September 7, ensure that public input is considered in a timely way.

There are a number of ways to participate, comment and become engaged in the review process.

PSRC develops policies and coordinates decisions about regional growth and transportation planning in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties. The Council is composed of over 80 county, city, port, transit, tribal and state agencies serving the region. It coordinates the distribution of about $160 million in Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration funds each year. PSRC sets priorities and evaluates the most efficient ways to target those funds to support state and local transportation and growth management plans.
