SEATTLE What's making life better in your neighborhood?
The Regional Council is seeking nominations for the VISION 2020 Awards, which recognize creative work by business, government and nonprofits to improve quality of life in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
Examples include building affordable housing and creating family-wage jobs in urban neighborhoods, fixing traffic and providing more ways to get around, protecting clean air and open spaces, and other efforts that are making central Puget Sound a better place to live, work and have fun.
The VISION 2020 Awards will be presented at a banquet in March 2002 attended by mayors and councilmembers representing more than 80 cities, counties and transportation agencies throughout the region.
Any person or organization can propose a nomination.

The Puget Sound Regional Council is the designated regional transportation and growth management agency for the central Puget Sound region under state and federal laws. The Council is composed of over 80 county, city, port, transit, tribal and state agencies in the region. The Council develops policies and coordinates decisions about regional growth and transportation planning in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties.
