Job Access Reverse Commute and New Freedom Grants
The Puget Sound Regional Council is a designated recipient of Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom funds apportioned to the Seattle-Tacoma-Everett Urbanized Area . As a designated recipient, the Regional Council is responsible for the competitive distribution of both JARC and New Freedom funds. The PSRC project selection process for Federal Fiscal Year 2006 and 2007 JARC and New Freedom funds is now complete. We would like to thank all agencies that submitted requests and congratulate those who were awarded funds. The JARC and New Freedom project list was approved by the Regional Council's Executive Board on July 26th and is currently awaiting final FTA approval. Projects have been submitted to the regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the July amendment. Once included in the regional TIP, they will then be amended into the state Transportation Improvement Program (sTIP) and the funds will be eligible to be obligated by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). After WSDOT has secured the funds they will then be distributed to the project sponsors. For questions or comments on the competitive selection program please contact Mary Pat Lawlor at 206-971-3272. For more information on special needs transportation planning, see the Special Needs Transportation Committee.
