Residential Building Permit Data The Residential Building Permit data files contain annual calendar year estimates of new housing units and demolitions/losses authorized by permit in the central Puget Sound region. Each file reports, by census tract, authorized new units, demolitions/lost units, net total units, net single family units, net total multifamily units, net multifamily units in 2 unit structures and accessory dwelling and apartment units, net multifamily units in 3-4 unit structures, net multifamily units in 5-9 unit structures, net multifamily units in 10-19 unit structures, net multifamily units in 20-49 unit structures, net multifamily units in 50+ unit structures, net mobile or manufactured units, and net other housing units.
