PSRC 2006 Household Activity Survey Analysis Report The 2006 survey was designed to further develop a regional database of households and their travel behavior, with the primary aim of collecting behavioral data from households to determine why they make the decisions they do regarding transportation options, or "choice" data, as opposed to opinion surveys that measure responses to "what if" questions. The Regional Council partnered with WSDOT's Office of Transit Mobility (OTM) to fund the survey, and to also collect more data on transit usage than previous efforts. The survey of more than 4,700 households was conducted in spring 2006 and consisted of household and person demographics, a 2-day travel and activity diary, attitude questionnaires, and a stated preference/ choice experiment survey. The consultant report has five sections covering trip and tour characteristics; transit market characteristics; analysis of attitudinal data regarding modal characteristics; description of choice experiments on transit mode choices and toll/no-toll choices; and analysis of GPS data. Data files in SPSS format will be available in August 2007. These will include household and person characteristics, travel activity data, tours data, and stated preference results.
