PSRC is surveying 4,600 households in the central Puget Sound region about how and why they travel to work, school, and all the other places they go. This survey is important because the data collected will be used to evaluate and develop strategies for future transportation improvements in the region. Randomly selected households in the four-county central Puget Sound region will be contacted by phone or mail to ask them to join the survey project. Participants will be asked to record all of their trips and activities during a two-day period. A subset up participants will have a Global Positioning System (GPS) device in their vehicles to collect real-time information on where they travel and how long it takes to get to and from their destinations. Participants will also fill out an attitude questionnaire and a stated preference survey. Some participants will also be interviewed over the phone about their travel choices. |
