Puget Sound Regional Council

The central Puget Sound region is home to one of the largest and most dynamic life sciences clusters in the United States. What sets the region apart is the growing global health sector. With significant support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a number of research and philanthropic organizations dedicated to improving global health have clustered in Puget Sound.

The Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) works to build this sector by supporting and advocating for Washington’s global health community as a nexus for research, education, training, commercialization, and delivery on the world stage.

Business Partnerships for Global Health is an initiative of WGHA, with support from the Prosperity Partnership. This initiative of public and private sector individuals brings together the non-profit and for-profit sectors to create mutually beneficial partnerships that spur innovation and accelerate the growth of our region’s global health sector.

In 2013, Business Partnerships for Global Health will convene groups around topic areas that resonate with companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) doing global health work. The initial roundtable will be held in the first quarter of 2013 and will focus on sustainable business models in global health.
