The military cluster is the source of significant economic activity in the region. Through the work of the Washington Defense Partnership, Prosperity Partnership has been successfully implementing a strategy to ensure enhanced economic opportunities for the region overall and for local military personnel, their spouses and family, and veterans in the region.

Recent successes include an expedited commercial driver’s license certification process for military truck drivers and the inclusion of Washington into the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, helping military families achieve better educational continuity when transferring between school districts and states.
