PSRC selected 27 shovel-ready priority transportation projects for its $78 million in Federal Highway Administration funds available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These projects have moved forward quickly, benefited from the current low bidding climate and are helping to improve mobility all around the region. All of the projects receiving PSRC’s FHWA ARRA funds are on schedule for completion.

SR 162 Rechannelization – City of Orting

SR 162 Rechannelization - City of Orting PSRC awarded $420,000 in FHWA ARRA funds to this nearly complete project. The project added left turn lanes, an extended right turn lane in the approach, and a new traffic signal with a left turn arrow, in addition to repaving and landscaping. This work will enable the city to meet its level of service standards for the road.

Several of the originally funded projects returned money, allowing PSRC to redistribute funds to additional projects on the contingency list. Projects in Arlington, Bothell, Lake Stevens, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, North Bend, Port of Bremerton, Port of Seattle, Poulsbo, Snohomish County and University Place have been moved forward with the returned money.
