Both VISION 2040 and Transportation 2040 call for work on best practices to assist local planning. Recognizing the linkage between land use and transportation planning, Transportation 2040 advances physical design guidelines, regulatory reforms and financial incentives.

Promote Physical Design Guidelines

Transportation 2040, the region’s long range transportation plan, recognizes the importance of urban form to mobility and the proper functioning of the transportation system. The region has to developed guidelines for designated urban centers and high capacity transit station areas, pursuant to Growth Management Act requirements and adopted regional policy.

VISION 2040 Implementation

VISION 2040 advances a series of implementation actions to help achieve the Regional Growth Strategy and the multicounty planning policies. Many actions are directed to PSRC, while others guide countywide and local planning.
