Information Center RSS

Sometimes you will see rss feed icon or rss feed icon on a web page or in your address or toolbar. These are symbols indicating the presence of an RSS feed.

What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an easy way to see updated content from your favorite websites and blogs without having to visit each site. Using an RSS reader, you subscribe to a feed, then read any new content that has been added to the site. If you find an article that interests you, simply click on the headline to read the complete article. RSS readers collect feeds from various sites into one place that you can manage. Our RSS feed will notify you of the latest PSRC publications and data products, and provide links for you to reach them.

How do I start?
First you must get an RSS reader (also called an aggregator or feed reader). RSS readers are programs that display the contents of an RSS feed in an easy to read format. To subscribe to a feed, look for a button like either of those above and follow the instructions in your RSS reader to add the feed to your list.

Where can I get an RSS reader?
There are many RSS readers available. Some are Web-based and others are software that you download and install on your computer. Some examples:
Bloglines - Web
My Yahoo! - Web
FeedReader - Windows
Google Reader - Web
NetNewsWire - Mac

Google for a reader
