Sea-Tac Airport Community Impact Survey

The Sea-Tac Airport Community Impact Survey assesses Sea-Tac Airport's effects on noise, transportation and land use in the community surrounding the airport. This survey is related to PSRC Resolution A-96-02, which in 1996 added planning for a third runway at Sea-Tac Airport to the Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

The resolution stipulated that several agencies would take steps to reduce the effects of airport noise on communities around the airport. One of the Regional Council's action items was to conduct two statistically valid surveys during and after construction of the third runway.

The survey, conducted April 23-26, 2006, included residents within the airport's 65 DNL noise contour, generally encompassing the area between Puget Sound and 1st Avenue South on the west, Pacific Highway South and Military Road on the east, South Cloverdale Street on the north, and South 288th Street on the south.
