Strategies for Making Transit-Oriented Development Happen

Multiple strategies must be used for a transit-oriented development project to come to fruition. These strategies are based on the premise that to achieve transit-oriented development, developers must do more than just passively allow transit-oriented development at station areas. They must assess the market demand for transit-oriented development, encourage the development community to participate in transit-oriented development, promote private development through public investment, and actively pursue partnerships with the development community.
