On June 27, 2002, the Executive Board of the Puget Sound Regional Council approved a memorandum of agreement with the Central Puget Sound Economic Development District.
The memorandum of agreement describes how the Regional Council and the Central Puget Sound Economic Development District (EDD) will better coordinate and support economic planning for the region. Under the agreement, the two agencies will share staff, offices, equipment, data, and meeting space, allowing for more efficient use of public resources and better coordination of planning efforts. This renewable agreement will be effective July 1 and is set to run for one year.

The Executive Board heard a briefing on Referendum 51 projects in Destination 2030, the central Puget Sound region's 30-year transportation plan.
The Legislature identified 67 projects in the region that will receive $4.6 billion if Referendum 51 passes in November. All of these projects are part of Destination 2030, either as candidate or approved projects.
Over the next few months, the Regional Council will be updating the Destination 2030 Action Strategy, which sets priority projects for the first decade of the 30-year plan. The Action Strategy will ultimately incorporate the results of the November 5th election and its impact in addressing the region's transportation system improvements.
