The Executive Board received an update on progress towards developing the Regional Economic Strategy.

Ted Lyman, Senior Principal with the Economic Competitiveness Group described the work underway, which includes the cluster analysis, the formation of a project management team, and additional analysis of outreach tasks. Upcoming tasks include preparation for the November 19 Regional Economic Summit, stakeholder interviews, peer region comparative analysis, and more.

SAVE THIS DATE! Be sure to mark November 19th on your calendar, the Regional Economic Summit is not to be missed. It will begin at 9 AM and be held at Qwest Field and Event Center.

The Executive Board authorized a contract for phase two of the geodatabase migration.

The geodatabase migration project is both a technology update and a systematic integration of the data resources, procedures and tools used by the PSRC in support of transportation and land use planning. Phase two provides for the development of a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) application, which will automate input and output between GIS and the Travel Demand Model.

The Executive Board Concurred with Designated Recipient Status for Community Transit.

Concurrence provides Community Transit with the ability to directly accept Section 5307 funds from the Federal Transit Administration for the Marysville Urbanized Area. PSRC will forward its concurrence to the Governor's office for final approval.

In Other Business, the Executive Board:

  • Authorized the extension of the contract with ECONorthwest to assist in the implementation of the GPS-Based Value Pricing Project.
  • Authorized a contract for consultant services for environmental planning work for the VISION 2020 Update.
  • Authorized the change in project status for three Destination 2030 projects. The Shoreline Interurban Trail Crossing and Seattle's Interurban Trail are now approved, and Seattle's Chief Sealth Trail has received conditionally approved status.
  • Approved a refinement to Destination 2030 adding the East Valley Highway Improvement Project - SR 167 to S. 212th St. as a candidate project.
  • Adopted a routine amendment to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for two projects in Bellevue, two King County Department of Transportation Transit projects, one Kitsap Transit project, and two Washington State Department of Transportation projects.
