Puget Sound Regional Council

As a part of the 2006 CTR Efficiency Act, local jurisdictions were invited to participate in WSDOT’s Growth and Transportation Efficiency Center (GTEC) program. The program is an extension of the CTR law and is designed to provide resources for jurisdictions to fund alternative commute efforts in areas with high concentrations of employment and population.

Seven jurisdictions are moving forward with implementing their plans. Four were awarded WSDOT funding and three have chosen to move forward voluntarily without state resources.

Downtown Seattle $600,000 allocation/ $300,000 annually
Downtown Bellevue $300,000 allocation/ $150,000 annually
Downtown Tacoma $300,000 allocation/ $150,000 annually
Redmond/Overlake $187,500 allocation/ $93,750 annually
City of Kirkland voluntary
