2011 FHWA Discretionary Grant Awards

The Federal Highway Administration has released the list of projects receiving funds through the 2011 Discretionary Grant programs. Four projects in the PSRC region received funds: Tacoma’s Downtown Streetscape project ($978,300), Sound Transit’s S 200th St Intermodal Station ($1,304,400), Gig Harbor’s Cushman Trail Phase 3 ($652,200), and Port of Kingston’s Passenger-Only Ferry Terminal Renovations ($764,000).

TIGER III Notice of Funding Availability

The US Department of Transportation has released an Interim Notice of Funding Availability for the 2011 TIGER Discretionary Grants program, authorizing $527 million for transportation projects that will have a significant impact on the Nation, a metropolitan area or a region. The TIGER III program is similar to the previous TIGER and TIGER II programs, as the funding will be awarded on a competitive basis and requires a 20% local match.
