Installation Instructions
The TIPNEW and TIPMOD applications use Microsoft Word 2000, Word 2003, or Word 2007. Project sponsors must use the most current versions of TIPNEW and TIPMOD. Follow these instructions to download and install the most current version.
1. It is important to set your security settings before you install the TIPNEW or TIPMOD. Please adjust your settings to allow macros in Word documents.
2. Click TIPNEW.exe or TIPMOD.exe to download. It is important to note where the file is saved in order to locate it for installation. Choose your location, click OK, and the file will be downloaded to your computer.
3. Locate and click downloaded TIPNEW.exe or TIPMOD.exe. A dialog box will open. Please read and click OK when ready.
4. A new dialog box (WinZip Self-Extractor – TIPNEW.exe or TIPMOD.exe) will appear. Click on Unzip, then OK when the extraction is complete.
5. Word will open. Click on the “Enable Macros” selection if using Word 2000 or Word 2003. If you are using Word 2007, enable the macros by clicking the Options button located underneath the ribbon, then select “Enable this content” and click OK.
6. Please read all instructions and then click the “Install” button. Once the installation is complete, select File – New on the menu bar. A box will open with several tabs: choose “General,” and select “create new document” in the lower right corner. to open the desired application template, click on the icon for either “TIPNEW.dot” or “TIPMOD.dot.” The application is now ready to use. Repeat this step each time you wish to fill out an application.
7. Please save individual applications with the naming convention detailed in Making Changes to the Regional and State TIP.
