Manual counts of bicycle and pedestrian activity at intersections during set hours.

Annual count data are collected by volunteers for three days during the early fall for the Washington State Bicycle Documentation Project. These are counts of bicycle and pedestrian activity at intersections using the National Documentation Project methodology.

During the fall of 2010, PSRC augmented the state effort within the Puget Sound region. Bicycle and pedestrian counts were collected for approximately 618 count times (during the AM or PM peak hours) at 496 unique locations. The PSRC and WSDOT data are both represented in the Regional Bicycle/Pedestrian Count Report (2010), but are broken out into two datasets as the peak hour period varied by agency.
