Apply for grants to electrify transportation

Designed to transform electric transportation market in Washington state

The Washington State Department of Commerce is now accepting applications for a new grant program that aims to speed up the electrification of the state’s transportation system.

Eligible applicants are local governments and electric utilities, and projects have to serve at least one of the following:

  • Public transportation
  • Local government fleet vehicles
  • Workplace charging
  • Multi-unit dwelling resident charging
  • Public charging
  • Port infrastructure, marine or aircraft

A total of $10.67 million is available.

The Electrification of Transportation Systems (ETS) program places emphasis on addressing the needs of highly impacted communities and vulnerable populations, particularly those disproportionately impacted by climate change and pollution from transportation systems.

Eligible applicants may partner with any organization type.
