Bruce Dammeier and Claudia Balducci elected to lead PSRC

General Assembly gathers in virtual meeting

In its first ever remote meeting, the Puget Sound Regional Council's General Assembly reelected Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier as President and King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci as Vice President of PSRC.

"Our focus during this challenging time is on supporting efforts to protect public health while fulfilling our mission to ensure a strong and vibrant region now and into the future,” said Executive Dammeier.

The General Assembly also unanimously adopted the agency's supplemental budget and work program for fiscal year 2021.

This document is a blueprint guiding work through the second year of PSRC's biennial budget.  It is a steady-state, balanced budget that supports PSRC’s regional planning mission.

Key projects include adopting the VISION 2050 plan this fall and conducting the Regional Aviation Baseline Study and the Passenger-Only Ferry Study. The agency will also keep federal transportation funds flowing to the region by awarding $540 million to priority projects and maintaining the regional Transportation Improvement Program. PSRC will also continue to provide essential data, forecasts and technical services.

The PSRC General Assembly includes elected representation from King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties, and more than 80 cities and towns, state agencies, transit agencies, ports, and tribal governments.
