Workshop in Tacoma on August 7

Be a part of creating a more connected, safe, and vibrant community!

Connecting Our Community Through Walking is a workshop being held in Tacoma on August 7.

The event will be led by nationally renowned speaker Mark Fenton and is sponsored by City of Tacoma, Pierce Transit, Pierce County, Metro Parks and the Transportation Choices Coalition. 

The two part day will be divided into lunch and dinner sections. Come for part or all of the day.

The lunch presentation and technical workshop held from 11:30 to 4 will cover:

  • How walking will improve the economy, quality of life, and safety of our neighborhoods
  • Technical training showcasing implementation techniques and local case studies for Complete Street

The dinner, community workshop, and walk held from 4:30 to 6:30 will include opprotunities to:

  • Share your ideas with your neighbors and community leader
  • Help create pedestrian, bike, and transit-friendly access to the new Eastside Community Center
  • Activate our streets and invest in our neighborhood
  • Build a safer and healthier neighborhood
