Long range transit planning is an evolving field that is benefiting from the explosion of publicly available data. Several new tools have emerged that are bringing this data together in easy to use, web-based platforms that put information directly in the hands of transit planners like never before. This session will include a hands-on demonstration of a tool called Remix, along with a panel discussion on how King County Metro and Pierce Transit have used Remix to aid in the development, public outreach and finalization of their long range transit plans. Speakers will include Craig Helmann, Puget Sound Regional Council; Andrew Brick, King County Metro; and Max Henkle, Pierce Transit. This event is part of a series on best practices and resources for local planning and implementation, sponsored by the Puget Sound Regional Council, APA Washington Chapter and the Washington State Department of Commerce.
