Grant opportunity for cities and counties

Partners for Places program focuses on sustainability

Cities and counties are invited to apply for funding to support local projects that promote a healthy environment, strong economy and well-being of all residents.

Partners for Places is a matching grant program that aims to create opportunities for cities and counties in the United States and Canada to improve communities by building partnerships between local government sustainability offices and place-based foundations.

The grant program will provide partnership investments between $25,000 and $75,000 for one year projects, or $50,000 and $150,000 for two year projects, with a 1:1 match required by one or more local foundations.

Proposals are due July 31. A webinar on creating a successful proposal will be offered on June 15 .

The program is a partnership between the Urban Sustainability Directors Network and the Funders' Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities (TFN).

More information is available on the Partners for Places website. An Idea Bank has summaries of all the proposals submitted in prior rounds.
