Help Shape the Regional Economic Strategy

Give feedback through our engagement tool

PSRC is updating the Regional Economic Strategy to provide a blueprint for regional collaboration to sustain and grow economic prosperity for all. The strategy identifies ways to expand economic opportunity, maintain global competitiveness, and sustain the region’s high quality of life. It will highlight important efforts already underway to reach these goals and identify new ways for making progress.

The region has faced unprecedented challenges over the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis has created both new economic challenges and new opportunities.

During the scoping process and preliminary outreach efforts, major themes for economic recovery have emerged:

  • Equity
  • Health
  • Child Care
  • Job Distribution
  • Broadband
  • Housing & Homelessness
  • Business Recovery
  • Industry Resilience

The new strategy is expected to be adopted in late 2021. We need to hear from you to finalize the strategy!

Check out our new online engagement tool to provide feedback. The tool is organized around 13 topic areas important to the strategy. Each topic includes an overview, challenges and opportunities, and a strategic response. The tool offers visitors the opportunity to give input on each.

Over the summer, staff will be leveraging the online engagement tool to facilitate outreach with EDD board members, stakeholders, and the public. The goal of the outreach effort is to validate the challenges and opportunities identified in the strategy, learn more about existing efforts to improve the regional economy, and solicit ideas for increased regional coordination.
