You can advance racial equity on a near daily basis by supporting Black-owned businesses.

The wealth gap shows the stark reality of racial disparities in the United States. The 2019 Survey of Consumer Finances found the average white family has eight times more wealth than the average Black family.

Black-owned businesses help keep earnings and financial gains within the Black community, raise employment for Black people and increase opportunities for wealth building over time.

The 2019 Annual Survey of Businesses conducted by the US Census Bureau showed that there are only about 124,000 Black-owned businesses nationwide. Many of these businesses have experienced economic impacts from COVID-19.
