Moving ahead with VISION 2050

Growth board continues work to develop draft plan

On May 2, the Growth Management Policy Board will dig into multiple VISION 2050 topics as the board works on a draft plan to be released in July.

Board members will review draft policies for the Economy, Regional Collaboration, and the Regional Growth Strategy.

The board may also direct staff to prepare the draft VISION 2050 chapters on the Environment, Development Patterns, Housing, Transportation, and Public Services.

Another big part of the board’s work over the next few months is developing a preferred growth strategy alternative that will guide where and how the region will grow.

At the May meeting, the board will have an initial discussion of the outcomes or principles that should guide development of the preferred alternative.  A public comment period on three growth strategy alternatives just concluded on April 29, and the board will hear a preview of the comments received.
