New Swift Green Line Opens

Congratulations, Community Transit!

Community Transit launched its second bus rapid transit line yesterday.

The 12-mile green route will connect Paine Field and Boeing’s Everett Factory via Mill Creek on SR 527 to Canyon Park in Bothell.

“This is a great partnership between Community Transit, Everett Transit, Sound Transit and Boeing,” says PSRC Executive Director Josh Brown.

The Green Line will help to connect the new commercial flight terminal at Paine Field and the Boeing Everett Factory to the larger Community Transit network. Riders will be able to connect to the existing Swift Blue Line at Highway 99. Service will begin at every 10 minutes for most of the weekday, shifting to every 20 minutes in the early morning and late evening as well as on the weekends.

The expanded Swift service coincides with the opening of the new Seaway Transit Center at Boeing’s Everett Factory. Not only will the new transit center be the northern terminus of the Swift Green Line, it will have connections to Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit, and Sound Transit buses, as well as for private shuttles, giving Boeing workers several new choices for how to get to work.

PSRC contributed $5 million in funding to the new Swift Green Line, including the Seaway Transit Center.
