Preparing for a safe return

Governor Inslee releases COVID-19 recovery plan

Governor Inslee has released a framework for how the state will gradually return to public life and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Described by the Governor as “turning a dial” rather than flipping a switch, the plan for lifting aspects of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order will be gradual and informed by data on COVID-19 infections.

Key to success will be the availability of widespread and rapid testing and expanding the team of public health workers who can help identify and communicate with contacts of those infected with the virus so they can self-isolate.

The state will provide guidance to businesses on operating safely, with continued physical distancing, teleworking and other measures necessary until a vaccine is available.

The state will also provide resources to support the physical, emotional and financial well-being of all people in the state including those hit hardest by the impacts from the pandemic.
