Regional Equity Strategy Update

Growth Management Policy Board to meet virtually on Sept 17

On September 17, the Growth Management Policy Board will discuss development of a Regional Equity Strategy.

This strategy seeks to make equity central to PSRC's work and to support the 2024 local comprehensive plan updates by cities and counties in the region. Equity means that all people in the region have access to the resources and opportunities needed to improve the quality of their lives.

Elements of the equity strategy will include data, outreach and tools to better understand how policies and actions affect the region's residents, especially people of color and people with low incomes.

Another component of this work is to convene an equity advisory group that can help provide feedback on the Regional Equity Strategy.

Other items on the board’s agenda include:

  • Recommending certification of center plans for Bellevue, Burien, Puyallup-Downtown and Puyallup-South Hill
  • Regional Aviation Baseline Study update
  • Equity tools on displacement risk and opportunity mapping
  • Stormwater and watershed planning resources
