Seattle and Tacoma are “Best Places for Businesses and Careers”

Forbes ranks Seattle #1 and Tacoma #10 out of 200 regions

A booming economy, highly educated young workers and strong growth outlook put Seattle and Tacoma metro areas into the nation's top 10 Best Places for Business and Careers.

The annual ranking measures the business climates of the 200 largest metro areas in the U.S.

Seattle was ranked #1 and Tacoma was #10 out of 200 regions.

In this ranking, Seattle refers to King and Snohomish counties, and Tacoma means all of Pierce County.

The magazine compared metropolitan areas on 14 metrics related to jobs, incomes and economic growth, business and living costs, and education levels.

Other factors included net migration, cultural and recreational opportunities, and laws protecting people from employment discrimination.

Forbes gives the most weighting to business costs and educational attainment in the overall ranking.
