South Lynnwood Neighborhood Plan

Wins VISION 2050 Award

The City of Lynnwood has won a VISION 2050 Award from the Puget Sound Regional Council for its South Lynnwood Neighborhood Plan.

The awards recognize innovative projects and programs that help ensure a sustainable future as the region grows.

The South Lynnwood Neighborhood Plan advances VISION 2050 through integrated housing, transportation, economic development, and open space goals and policies. The plan seeks to help South Lynnwood residents access opportunity through transit, preserve housing affordability, strengthen connections between the community and decision-makers, and support the business community.

“The South Lynnwood Neighborhood Plan is an outstanding example of how the community can plan ahead to reach its own vision for a thriving neighborhood,” said Josh Brown, Executive Director of PSRC. “The result is a plan that prioritizes advancing equity and addressing past inequities in its recommendations. The plan recognizes the risk of displacement to lower-income community members and businesses and seeks to implement policies which improve community outcomes.”

The award was presented at the South Lynnwood Park Ribbon Cutting on June 22, 2022.
