Southworth Fast Ferry sails March 29

Passenger-only ferry service to downtown Seattle

The Southworth Fast Ferry service is the third and final route promised by Kitsap Transit in the package approved by its voters in 2016.

The new service will offer four morning and five evening round trips between Southworth and downtown Seattle, Monday through Friday, with a sailing time of 26 minutes.

A joint operating agreement between the Washington State Ferries and Kitsap Transit will allow for use of the Southworth slip. Dock availabity may impact actual travel times.

Kitsap Transit will be adding a new shuttle from the Harper Church Park and Ride as well as a new Southworth Ride Fast Ferry Commuter shared-ride service that will operate on a reservations basis to help people access the new service.

The 255-passenger Enetai will be the primary operating vessel on this route. Two back up boats will become available in the coming months.

Passage on the Southworth route will be free until May 1, at which time it will be $2 to go to Seattle and $10 for the return trip.
