“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Community Transit,” said Edmonds Community College President Dr. Jean Hernandez. “We’re hopeful that the newSwift bus stop will allow our students, employees, and the community quicker and safer access to campus.

ECC students have the option to buy a discounted transit pass with their enrollment and currently over 1,500 people use transit to go to campus. The new Swift stop could up that number significantly.

The ECC station makes for 15 total Swift stops in each direction on a route that currently serves 5,500 riders per day.

The new stop was part of the original plan, but had to be deferred until the City of Lynnwood could finish improvements to 204th to give Swift access to the area.

PSRC has contributed nearly $2 million towards the entire Swift line since 2009.
