Growth board scheduled to approve release of draft plan on July 11

Puyallup Valley
The Growth Management Policy Board is putting the finishing touches on a draft VISION 2050 plan that will guide the region’s growth over the next three decades.
At the July 11 meeting, the board is scheduled to approve release of the draft plan for public review and comment. If approved, the draft plan will be finalized and released later in July.
At the meeting, board members will review and discuss outstanding issues and questions on the plan, including:
- Proposed revisions to draft multicounty planning policies and actions
- The draft Regional Growth Strategy Preferred Alternative, which incorporates requested changes from Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties
- Additional information on urban unincorporated and rural growth that the board requested last month related to existing capacity and vested developments
- Growth allocations and policies that will support better jobs-housing balance throughout the region
The meeting agenda also includes an update on public outreach activities for VISION 2050.
You can find the full agenda here or watch the meeting video on July 11, 1-3 p.m.
