Water Taxi service will keep summer schedule

Help for West Seattle commuters

The Water Taxi connecting West Seattle to downtown Seattle will continue to operate on its summer sailing schedule all winter. This means service will continue all day from 6 am to 7pm and ferry runs will not be suspended during mid-day as they usually are during the darker months.

The Seattle Department of Transportation worked with King County Metro to provide the additional funding all winter long as repairs continue to the West Seattle High-Rise Bridge.

Ships will leave the dock every 35 minutes during weekday peak commute hours and every hour mid-day, evenings, and weekends. The expanded service will not include late night Friday and Saturday sailings after 7:00 pm.

The additional water taxi service is part of a suite of transit options to help people living in West Seattle and the Duwamish Valley during the bridge closure. The West Seattle High-Rise Bridge remains on track to reopen in mid-2022.  PSRC has provided $14.4 million to help complete the repair of the bridge.
