Over the past year, PSRC has convened a group of local elected officials from ferry communities across all corners of Puget Sound to advocate for fully funding ferry service in Washington state.
As part of this work, PSRC wanted to hear firsthand from those working directly on ship building and maintenance of ferries. PSRC Board President and Mayor of Poulsbo Becky Erickson, Mayor of Bainbridge Island Joe Deets and several federal delegation staff members toured the Everett Ship repair facility to learn about vessel construction and repair.
Several Washington State Ferry boats have undergone maintenance and repair at the facility the group toured.
Thank you to Nichols Brothers Boat Builders for graciously giving the group a tour of their shipyard.
