Regional Rural Safety Workshops

The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission (WTSC) are hosting eight rural safety workshops across the region. The workshops will bring rural community members together with state and local agencies to share information, discuss key road safety concerns, and identify potential solutions.

Regional Safety Action Plan

The Regional Safety Action Plan (RSAP) was adopted by the PSRC General Assembly in 2025 and provides a framework for PSRC and partner agencies to strategize and implement safety-focused projects and policies.

While the RSAP found that crashes occur everywhere in the region, rural areas have more than twice as many deaths as the biggest cities when adjusted for population. The rural safety workshops will allow participants to share safety concerns in their communities and discuss ways to make roadways safer.
