There are two new funding opportunities to increase stormwater parks and climate resiliency in Puget Sound.
The Puget Sound Stormwater Strategic Initiative has announced two grant applications totaling $2 million in available funds for programmatic and local actions that accelerate recovery.
Proposals will support the planning and community engagement needs for new stormwater parks throughout Puget Sound, which would restore habitats and water quality.
The two current funding opportunities, funded by the EPA Puget Sound Recovery National Program Office, include goals to increase climate resiliency in stormwater management and accelerate the distribution and effectiveness of stormwater parks.
One million dollars are available for each goal, with $100,000 per award for accelerating the distribution and effectiveness of stormwater parks and $250,000 per award for increasing climate resiliency in stormwater management.
State, local and Tribal governments, non-profit organizations and institutions of higher learning are encouraged to apply. Applications are due February 12, 2024, at 5 pm PST, and the Stormwater Strategic Initiative will hold pre-application office hours online on January 10 and February 7 to assist applicants developing their proposals.
