Health-in-all policies Tools for Comprehensive Plans recognized
The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and Pierce County have won a VISION 2050 Award from the Puget Sound Regional Council for the Health-in-all-policies Tools for Comprehensive Plans.
The awards recognize innovative projects and programs that help ensure a sustainable future as the region grows.
This program applied a health-in-all-policies approach to update Pierce County’s countywide planning policies using logic model tools to identify policies to integrate health into the elements of Comprehensive Plans.
“The is Health-in-all-policies Tools for Comprehensive Plans an outstanding example of how working together can bring creative solutions to the health and equity goals contained in our regional vision.” said Josh Brown, Executive Director of PSRC. “This work successfully integrated health considerations into all elements of Pierce County’s comprehensive planning and includes a set of tools that can improve planning for years to come. Not only in Pierce County, but throughout the region.”
The award was presented at the Pierce County Board of Health Meeting on July 6, 2022.
