Unlocking Access to Recreation Funding in our Communities

Every resident should have access to a park close to home. The Trust for Public Land, with support from the National Park Service, is launching a new technical assistance program to help cities, towns, tribes and other eligible entities to pursue the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Grants (ORLP) Program.

The Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) is a nationally competitive grant program that provides funding to enhance recreation opportunities in rural and urban communities. In June, the Trust for Public Land is hosting two free webinars to assist in ORLP funding.

The Trust for Public Land is hosting their first session of four - Unlock Federal Funding to Expand Outdoor Recreation Access: A Guide to the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program, which introduces ORLP program goals, eligibility requirements and the full suite of technical assistance resources TPL developed for prospective applicants. This session is being held on June 10 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. ET. Register for more information.

The second session is Federal Funding for Tribal Lands: How to Apply to the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) Program. This session is dedicated to federally recognized tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, Native Hawaiian organizations and Urban Indian Organizations and will cover what Tribal and Indigenous entities need to know to pursue ORLP funding. The session will be held on June 24 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET. Register for more information.

Two other sessions take place on July 8 and July 29 and lay the groundwork for applying to the ORLP and how to write a competitive application. Visit TPL’s website for more information on the upcoming sessions.
