Impact of SB 6026 Residential Development in Commercial and Mixed-Use Zones

PSRC is sharing an analysis of the impacts of SB 6026 Residential Development in Commercial and Mixed-Use Zones proposed during the 2026 legislative session.    

This analysis is based on S-3569 (version as of 12/15/2025) to evaluate potential impact on zoning capacity and residential development and does not reflect recent changes to bill but does exclude Transit Oriented Development areas impacted by House Bill 1491.  

The Senate Housing Committee will have a hearing on SB 6026 on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:30am.
