The Housing Mini-Academy is a compact, high-impact educational program designed to equip
elected policymakers and their legislative staff across Washington State with practical tools to
address the housing affordability crisis. Participants will gain exposure to:
• Cutting-edge strategies for land use reform
• Innovative funding models for affordable housing
• Approaches to reduce construction costs
• Emerging modern methods of construction


The program bridges the gap between public officials and housing-sector experts, preparing
policymakers to remove barriers to housing affordability while effectively engaging their
communities.

This one-day workshop on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 9am to 3pm will explore the fundamentals
of the housing crisis and identify cutting-edge strategies and innovative solutions.
