An effort to bring more affordable housing to Kitsap has been recognized with a VISION 2050 Award.
Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council worked with the county and cities of Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Port Orchard, and Poulsbo to develop a set of pre-approved accessory dwelling unit plans for development. The six plans are available for free and vary in size from 480 to 1000 square feet. They have been approved by local building and fire departments.
A public-private partnership was developed to demonstrate these plans, securing enough interest for a local lumber company to pre-cut the necessary elements of the design, further easing the use of the plans locally.
Congratulations, all!
