Renton Councilmember Ed Prince has been named Chair of the Growth Management Policy Board by the Executive Board.
Councilmember Prince is in his third term on the Renton City Council and had been the Vice-Chair of the Growth Management Policy Board for a little over a year.
He is the Executive Director of the Washington State Commission on African American Affairs and previously worked for the Washington State House of Representatives.
Councilmember Price currently serves as President of the Sound Cities Association (SCA). He is also a member of the Sound Transit Board of Directors, and Co-chair of the King County Regional Homeless Authority.
He is a former chair of the City of Renton Planning Commission, past chair of the Renton School District Bond and Levy campaign and a founding director of the Renton Community Foundation's "The Next Curve."
His belief that the strength of government comes from collaboration has led to extensive involvement on regional boards and committees, including the Growth Management Planning Council, SCA Legislative Committee and the Regional Transit Committee.
He is also a member of the Central Puget Sound Economic Development District Board and an alternate on PSRC’s Executive Board.
