TOD funding opportunity

The Federal Transit Administration has launched a new pilot program to help fund Transit-Oriented Development planning.

Over $25 million in funding is available to support integrated land use and transportation planning in new transit corridors. FTA may award amounts ranging from $250,000 to $2,000,000.

The program seeks to improve economic development and ridership, foster multimodal connectivity and accessibility, improve transit access for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, engage the private sector, identify infrastructure needs, and enable mixed-use development near transit stations.

FTA is requiring that transit project sponsors partner with local governments in the project corridor to ensure that planning work reflects the needs and aspirations of the local community and results in positive outcomes.
