Climate is a primary focus of VISION 2050 and central to the Regional Transportation Plan.
In accordance with the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, the region’s goal is to substantially reduce greenhouse emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050. Many solutions are required to get us there.
The RTP includes a four-part Greenhouse Gas Strategy, recognizing that decisions and investments regarding Land Use, Transportation Choices, Pricing, and Technology/Decarbonization are primary factors that influence greenhouse gas emissions for on-road transportation.
